The maths behind a 10,000x screenshot.

Average RTP across the major B2B studios, the house edge that comes with it, and a model that turns any max-win cap into real odds — from a 50x tickle to a 50,000x jackpot. Set your own multiplier and bet size, and see exactly how long the machine expects to run before it pays.

Educational model, not a strategy. Every configuration on this page has negative expected value — that is what an RTP below 100% means. The odds shown are reconstructed from published RTP, volatility and max-win figures, not from any studio's internal PAR sheet, so treat them as the right order of magnitude rather than an exact number for one specific game.

Big B2B studios — published RTP and modelled odds

RTP and max-win figures as published in each studio's flagship game info screen. The three odds columns are this page's model applied to those figures — same maths for every row, so the comparison is fair even where it is approximate.

Average across 14 studios96.19%3.81%—24,607xOdds vary with volatility and cap — see the lab below

A higher cap does not mean a better game. Nolimit City's six-figure ceiling and NetEnt's 500x ceiling both sit behind roughly the same 96% RTP — the cap only changes how the same returned money is distributed.

Rows greyed out sit above the 10,000x cap. “Wager to hit” is the money that passes through the machine on average before the first hit — not what you lose, which is that figure times 3.50%.

Bet size scenarios

Same game, five stake levels. The jackpot column uses the 10,000x cap and your 500-spin session.

Expected loss scales linearly with stake; the odds of the jackpot do not move at all. Betting bigger buys a bigger prize, never a better chance.

How the odds are derived

No black box — here is the whole model in five lines.

  1. A spin pays nothing, a little, or a lot. Small wins land below the feature threshold; everything bigger is drawn from a heavy tail. The split is set by the volatility profile.
  2. The tail is a two-segment power law. P(X ≥ m) falls as m-α₁ through the mid range and the steeper m-α₂ above the break point. One exponent cannot fit both a realistic 100x hit rate and a realistic 10,000x hit rate, which is why real slots need two.
  3. RTP pins the whole curve. The tail must pay a fixed share of RTP, and for a non-negative payout E[X · 1{X ≥ m₀}] = m₀·S(m₀) + ∫S(x)dx. That is linear in the tail probability, so nothing is fitted by eye.
  4. The cap truncates the curve. All probability above the max win piles up exactly at the cap, and anything beyond it is zero — not rare, impossible.
  5. Spins are independent. Chance of at least one hit in n spins is 1 − (1 − p)n. A dry streak never makes the next spin more likely; the machine has no memory of it.

What this cannot tell you

  • The exact paytable of any one game — studios do not publish it.
  • Which RTP band an operator has licensed. The same title ships from 94% to 96.5%.
  • Bonus-buy maths, which shifts variance and sometimes RTP by a point or more.
  • Anything about what happens next. Every spin is drawn fresh from the same distribution.

The one number that survives every assumption: at 96.19% average RTP, a 3.81% edge applies to every dollar wagered, every spin, forever.
